About the founder - Pat Runkle
As written by the founder, Pat Runkle.  "The Agape News" November 2000.
"Many of you have heard of the vision that God has revealed to me about starting a Christian Summer Day Camp program.  This vision first came to me about three years ago while I was helping with refreshments at Bible School.  I thought it was so neat to see Christians of various denominations: Lutheran, Presbyterians and Methodists come together for the common good of the community and celebrate and witness to the things we have in common, ie: our belief in Jesus Christ as Savior of the world."

"That's all the further the vision went until this past summer when the vision became really strong.  I got so excited about it that I planned out an entire camp day.  I began to share my vision with others in our church and they also became excited.  I remember, as I planned the camp day, telling God:  "thanks for the vision but, you know how busy I am with work and a family, so find someone who doesn't work to start the program, and He did!"

Pat had battled with cancer for many years.  Many miracles have happened and many prayers have been answered and visions have become reality.  Pat's Service of Celebration regarding cancer speaks words of consolation:

Cancer is so limited....

     It cannot cripple love

     It cannot shatter hope

     It cannot corrode faith

     It cannot destroy peace

     It cannot kill friendships

     It cannot suppress memories

     It cannot silence courage

     It cannot invade the soul

     It cannot steal eternal life

     It cannot conquer the Spirit.

On May 28, 2004- Patricia Kay Runkle, went home to her Lord and Savior.  Her vision is very much alive and her spirit remains with those who have shared her vision for the children and families of this area.  If you would like to help continue this vision- Memorial contributions may be made to:
